This page is dedicated to Charles "Chaz" Schwerin, his life and his passion.

The Ghost Rider was to be the pinnacle of his creation,
a motorcycle that exemplified his life.

"Live full throttle."

Charles “Chaz” Schwerin, 57, rode out on the highway to heaven early on March 8, 2006, lovingly surrounded by family and close friends while listening to the music of Chris Bode, Jackson Brown and Santana.

Chaz, who graduated with a degree in culinary arts from San Francisco, owned several successful restaurants in past years.  Chaz, also an accomplished jazz musician, specialized in keyboards and flute and composed most of the music he played.  He was always proud of sitting in with Santana.

Chaz’s greatest passion in life, by far, was riding, designing and building custom motorcycles.  He was trying to finish his final bike while fighting thru the pain, but his race against the clock was lost. Chaz’s family and his best friends made a promise to him that the bike will be finished and then his spirit will live on as an integral part of the finished design: his desire is to be interred in the handle bars of the bike.

His unique sense of humor will be forever missed by all those who knew him.  He was a fighter to the end and never gave up nor gave in.  To do so would be ‘a sign of weakness”.  A celebration of his life will be planned for a later date.

He is survived by his daughter, his loving mother and two sisters.
